Tools › Forward vs. realized
Forward marks against day-ahead settlements
See how EOX power forwards have priced against what the market then settled at: each past month's on- and off-peak mark beside the day-ahead average over the same hours, outright or as a basis between two locations.
What goes in, what comes out
Your choices
- The market and location, as named in your power curves
- How many past months to compare, up to three years
- How far ahead the mark is taken: the prompt mark, or a set number of days before the month began
- Optionally a second location, to compare the basis between the two
The results, month by month
- The on- and off-peak forward mark and the curve date it was taken
- The day-ahead average over the same hours, and the number of hours
- The difference, in dollars and as a percentage of the mark
- For each block, the average difference and how many months settled above the mark
Marks follow your subscription: month-end subscribers see month-end marks, and trials see marks from their start date.

Questions
- Which mark is used?
- The month contract's mid on the last curve date before the month began, or a set number of days earlier if you choose.
- How are on- and off-peak hours defined?
- By the market's own on-peak hours and holidays, the same blocks the forward curves use.
- Which locations are covered?
- Locations in your subscription whose day-ahead history EOX loads: trading hubs, load zones and many nodal locations.
- Is this a forecast?
- No. It compares past forward marks with past settlements, for your own analysis.
